Sukoon helps you and your family set aside distracting apps at prayer time and build a daily Qur'an habit. You do not create an account with us, and we do not ask for your name, email address or password. Your personal content in the app — such as your notes, your prayer progress and your Qur'an reading — is kept on your device. Information shared between paired family devices is encrypted so that it is readable by those devices and not by us. We work with a limited number of service providers to process payments, manage subscriptions, understand how the app is used, diagnose problems and measure our advertising. We do not show ads in Sukoon, we do not sell your personal information, and we ask your permission before any tracking across other companies' apps and websites. This summary is provided for convenience; the full policy below governs.
Sukoon is provided by NUNE LLC (“NUNE,” “we,” “us” or “our”). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share and protect information in connection with the Sukoon app for iPhone and iPad, its family features, and related websites and services that link to this policy (together, the “Service”). It does not apply to third-party services, websites or platforms that we do not control, including Apple, Google, the platforms on which we advertise, or Sukoon for Android, which is covered by its own terms.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Service.
The Service is designed so that most of the information you create in it is stored on your device and is not sent to us. This includes:
Where this information is shared with paired family devices, it is handled as described in Section 4. Deleting the app removes the information stored by the app on that device, although a limited amount of non-personal setup information may be retained by your device to restore the app's configuration if it is reinstalled.
Sukoon calculates prayer times using your approximate location. By default, it estimates your location from your device's time zone, which does not require permission. If you allow location access, Sukoon uses your device's approximate location to improve the accuracy of your prayer times. We do not collect your precise location and we do not use your location for advertising.
Your approximate location is used on your device and is not sent to us for our own use. If you add an Android device to your family, the prayer-time settings for that device, including an approximate location, are delivered to it so that it can calculate the same prayer times. You may withdraw location permission at any time in your device's settings, in which case prayer times will be estimated from your time zone.
When a parent or guardian pairs a family member's device, the paired devices exchange the information needed for the family features to work. This may include the prayer schedule and restriction settings chosen by the parent, the names, roles and avatars that family members choose, lock and unlock instructions, requests for additional time and any message included with them, and progress information such as prayers completed and reading time.
This information is encrypted on the sending device using keys created during pairing and is intended to be readable only by the paired devices. We cannot read its contents. Pairing is performed by scanning a code shown on the other device; the camera is used only for that purpose. When devices are unpaired, sharing between them stops and the shared information is removed in the ordinary course.
Sukoon does not ask for a family member's full legal name, date of birth, email address or phone number. We recommend using a first name or nickname.
Certain information is collected by us or by our service providers when you use the Service. Depending on how you use it, this may include:
We do not use this information to identify you by name, and we do not intentionally collect your notes, the content of your Qur'an reading or the identity of the apps you restrict.
We use the information described in this policy to:
We may also create aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you and use it for any lawful purpose. We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
You may request a current list of the categories of service providers and the providers we work with by contacting us.
There is no advertising inside Sukoon. We advertise Sukoon on other platforms and use an advertising measurement service to understand whether those ads lead to installs, trials and subscriptions. On iPhone and iPad, Apple asks for your permission before an app may track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. If you allow tracking, your device's advertising identifier may be used to attribute your install to an ad more accurately. If you decline, the advertising identifier is not used and the app works the same way. Measurement may still take place in a more limited form that does not use the advertising identifier. You can change this choice at any time in your device's settings.
Sukoon includes a role intended for a child's device, which must be set up by a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not intended for children to download or use without that parental involvement.
On a child's device, the information the child enters — such as a name or nickname, avatar, prayer progress, reading time and requests for additional time — is shared with the paired parent device as described in Section 4 and is not readable by us. As on any device, the technical and measurement information described in Section 5 may be collected to operate, secure and improve the Service. The child setup flow does not request tracking permission. Sukoon does not show ads to children, does not build advertising profiles of children and does not sell children's personal information. Purchases are made by the adult who manages the subscription.
A parent or guardian may contact us to ask about, or request deletion of, information relating to their child. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate parental involvement, we will take steps to delete it.
We and our service providers keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide the Service, meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Information stored on your device is kept until you delete it or delete the app. Information shared between family devices is kept until the devices are unpaired. Analytics, diagnostic and advertising measurement information is kept for a limited period and then deleted or de-identified.
You can control the permissions Sukoon uses — including location, notifications, camera, Screen Time and tracking — in your device's settings. Some features may not work without the relevant permission.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of or a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. You may exercise these rights by contacting us. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Because Sukoon does not use named accounts, we may need information from you to locate the relevant records and to verify your request, and we may be unable to act on information that we cannot associate with you. For information held only on your devices, we can explain how to delete it, but we cannot access it ourselves. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Where the law of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a similar jurisdiction applies, we process personal information as necessary to provide the Service you request, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving and promoting the Service, to comply with legal obligations, and, where required, on the basis of your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted connections and encryption of family information between paired devices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information. You are responsible for keeping your devices, pairing codes and Apple Account secure.
We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
The Service relies on and may link to services provided by third parties, such as Apple and Google. Their collection and use of information is governed by their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date above, and where required by law or where changes are material, we will provide additional notice, such as within the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update takes effect means you acknowledge the updated policy.
