Sukoon helps you and your family put your phones down at prayer time and build a daily Qur'an habit. You never create an account with us, and we never ask for your name, email address or password. What you do inside the app — the apps you choose to pause, your prayers, your notes, your reading — stays on your phone. When a parent and a child pair their devices, what they share is encrypted so that only those devices can read it, not us. We use a small number of trusted service providers to take payments, manage subscriptions, understand how the app is used, fix crashes and learn which of our ads brought you here. We show no ads inside Sukoon, we never sell your information, and we ask your permission before we track anything across other apps.

Most of what Sukoon knows about you never leaves your device, and we have no way to see it:
Deleting Sukoon deletes all of this. A small marker that remembers whether this phone was set up as a parent, a child or an individual can survive a reinstall; it contains no personal details.
Sukoon needs to know roughly where you are to calculate prayer times. It first tries to do this from your phone's time zone, with no permission needed. If you choose to allow location access, Sukoon asks your phone for an approximate, one-time position (good to a few kilometres), uses it to set your prayer times and keeps it on your device only. You can say no, or change your mind later in your phone's Settings, and prayer times will fall back to your time zone.
When a parent pairs a child's phone, the two phones need to exchange a few things so the family features work: the prayer schedule and lock settings the parent chose, the child's name as the parent typed it, lock and unlock instructions, the child's requests for extra time (including the reason the child writes), and progress such as prayers completed and minutes of Qur'an read. For the family circle, each member's chosen name, role, avatar and colour are shared too.
This information is encrypted on the devices before it is sent, using keys created when they pair, so neither we nor anyone else in between can read it. Only the paired devices can. Pairing happens by scanning a code shown on the other device; the camera is used for that scan and nothing else. Unpairing stops the sharing and removes what was shared.
Sukoon never asks for a full legal name, a date of birth, an email address or a phone number. A first name or nickname is all a family needs.
One of Sukoon's roles is meant to run on a child's own phone. We built it to collect as little as possible. A parent or guardian sets it up in person, and Apple's own Screen Time rules for children apply on top. The child's name, avatar, prayer progress, reading time and any request for extra time go only to the paired parent's device, not to us. We do not show ads to children, do not build profiles of them and do not sell or share children's information. Subscriptions are bought by the adult; the app never asks a child to buy anything. If you believe we have received a child's personal information without a parent's involvement, email us and we will delete it.
A small amount of information goes to companies that help us run Sukoon. None of it includes your notes, the names in your family, your prayers, what you read or which apps you pause.
These providers may use the information only to provide their service to us, and they are required to protect it. If you would like to know which companies we currently work with, email us and we will tell you.
There are no ads inside Sukoon. We do advertise Sukoon on other platforms, and to measure those ads we use the advertising measurement service described above. On iPhone, Apple shows you a permission prompt before any app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you allow it, Sukoon can connect your install to the ad you saw more accurately. If you decline, that is fine: the app works exactly the same, and your device's advertising identifier is not used. Either way we do not sell your information and we do not build advertising profiles of you.
With your permission, Sukoon sends you reminders before prayers, lets a parent know when a child asks for extra time, and keeps paired phones in step so a lock reaches the child's phone promptly. Some of these are quiet, behind-the-scenes messages that wake the app for a moment so a change reaches the other device quickly. They carry no personal content. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's Settings.
You control the permissions Sukoon uses — location, notifications, camera, Screen Time and tracking — from your phone's Settings, and the app keeps working with any of them turned off. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how it is used. Because Sukoon uses random identifiers rather than named accounts, we may need a little information from you to find the right records, and for data that lives only on your devices we can tell you how to remove it but cannot reach it ourselves.
We protect information with encrypted connections, and family information is encrypted so that only the paired devices can open it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute safety, but we keep what leaves your phone to the minimum. The companies that help us run Sukoon may handle data in the United States and other countries, under contracts that require them to protect it.
We may update this policy as Sukoon grows. When we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
